Are your lights safe to use in bathrooms?

By far the question we get asked the most, is if our lights are safe to use in the bathroom?  I.e. are they rated as IP44 or IP66?

At the moment all of our lights are IP20 rated, and so will not be suitable for Bathroom Zones 0, 1 & 2. Here is a diagram laying out the no-go splash zones, and where is safe for your Spark and Bell light fitting.

You’ll see from the diagram that areas immediately in or around the sink, bathtub and shower are not safe. However a common placement of one of our light fittings is crowning a bathroom mirror hanging above a basin, which is a gorgeous placement to consider, and totally doable. Anything from 60cm above the sink is considered okay for IP20 rated lights.

We highly recommend customers consult their electrician before installing the lights as they will advise on what’s suitable for your space and will have the final say on safety.
